Sensyu hand towel
NIPPON YU TOWEL
You may be familiar with the world-famous Imabari towel making prefecture, but the small city of Sensyu in Osaka is considered to be the original birthplace of the towel industry in Japan, producing around 40% of the country’s best loved towels since 1887. Just as Imabari is renowned its specially soft water, Sensyu towelling is characterised by a traditional bleaching process called Atozarashi which removes impurities such as glues used in the weaving process, and the oils naturally present in the yarn. The result is a very fine and luxurious towel which meets strict water absorbency standards and quality controls. This traditionally proportioned small towel has a loose, fine loop pile and subtle stripe in grey and blue. The packaging is delightful in its own right, with illustrated tips on how to take a better bath! A special gift for any self -care devotee, new parents or an upgrade to your daily handwashing habits.
