Strengthen your decor with a stalwart icon of Japanese culture, the sumo wrestler. This warabe yokuzuna (children's sumo champion) was made from fired clay during the Shōwa era. Produced in Hakata, Fukuoka, home of Hakata ningyō (dolls and figurines traditional to this region), these cheeky warriors originated as offerings to Buddhist temples or as gifts to the ruling feudal lord, or daimyō.
